Over on the the forum of flog DCUK a new member has started a thread called "hi all wheat free" and posted the first quote below. Followed up by low carb high fat anti Noblehead.

How about this for openers, just about every member of the forum past and present has a severe wheat intolerance full stop! and it ain't gonno go away, ever. Cereals, bread, biscuits, cakes and all sorts of high carb highly processed food products contain wheat i.e. high carb, around 60% carb on average.
You can see where this is going, it's not wheat per sa it's CARBS. Of course Noblehead and his carb pushing meds promoting numbskulls would never admit this, perhaps they don't know. Who knows, one thing is for sure, 99% of the success stories at the flog have involved a big reduction in carbs, and wheat was probably the first thing to go.

Why does Paul post in the thread that he does not touch grains.
I thought he was a champion for livelife bread?
Paul has not posted on this thread. As for Livelife bread us low carbers love the stuff. We have promoted it here more than once.
Try Specsavers you obviously need an eye check.

Do you think I read every post on DCUK ? Maybe you could give link next time. Why don't you take Paul on at the flog ? I am not his keeper.

If you are going to be pedantic then it's actually 'Livlife' and not 'Livelife' as you (and a certain person on DCUK spells the brand name...Hmmm) and yes-I posted on the thread earlier (Shock horror) and to answer your question I do avoid grains as in cereals,pasta,white or wholemeal bread etc because they spike my BG levels through the roof even in small quantities due to the amount of total carbs so rather than eat a 'Trafalgar square pigeon/portion control/little girls dolly tea set plate' size meal I avoid them 99% of the time BUT occasionally I DO eat a couple of slices of the Livlife bread out of the freezer and toasted with some poached or fried eggs as doing so still keeps me under 10 grams of total carbs for breakfast so no big deal!
Did the opening poster need to know that 1% of the time I eat low carb bread? NO! I was simply telling him/her that avoiding grains in the main had done me no harm whatsoever.

Everyone must make their own choice either eat wheat or not. I understand that Livlife per slice is low in carbohydrates, approx 4 per slice I believe. Readers can correct me if wrong. For diabetics is it not the carbohydrates and sugar that raise blood sugar numbers.

I'm one who believes that wheat is definitely more problematic than other starchy carbs, especially given the fact that in all its forms it has infiltrated almost every processed food on the market.

I've given up counting the number of threads about bread that you find on diabetes forums. Must be the most addictive substance on the planet going by the prevalence of people whining about it :-)
I believe wheat can be a cause of type 1 diabetes. The gliadin in the gluten of wheat causes intestinal impermeability leading to auto immune disease. The amylopectin A carbohydrate in wheat raises blood glucose levels very high, very fast. Wheat is a grass which contains lectins which are plant toxins. Cows can eat grass because they have a rumen in their digestive system which ferments the lectins so they become less harmful. Human do not have the correct digestive system to eat grass which explains all the modern diseases caused by the genetically modified wheat strain we have been eating since the late 1960's - not long after celiac and all other auto immune diseases increased fourfold. The phytates in grains bind to minerals , so they become biounavailable to our bodies. So don't bother taking calcium supplements if you are a grain eater. There is no such thing as "healthy wholegrains". People get so emotional over the issue of grain based diets. But I looked at the science behind it and it makes perfect sense when applied to human physiology.
May I point out that avoiding wheat from choice is one thing but being wheat and or gluten intolerant is something completely different. There's nothing to stop someone with a wheat and gluten allergy from buying gf flour and carrying on as before. The flour is very high carb by the way. Diabetes control is improved no end using the specialist flours.
I'm not saying I have an allergy to wheat but since eliminating it from my diet I am now clear of IBS. The symptoms began to ease when I started eating LCHF and after a few weeks I realised why I was getting better, so I cut it out completely. Result....less rubbish in, less rubbish out! Simple ;)
