This was in response to a member talking about diabetes and increased risk of bowel cancer.
This is the sort of complete nonsense spouted by some dietitians and those who know nothing about low carb diets. Typically I eat at least eight vegetables portions per day, almost all low starch or green. With other foods containing fibre I eat, constipation has never ever been a problem for me, or any other of the low carbers I know. In fact I know people who have gone low carb and it has improved digestion and constipation problems, including excess acidity and irritable bowel conditions.
If you want to know about lack of BG control and very serious gut problems check out Gastroparesis, try controlling diabetes if that catches up with you.
BTW The so called daily recommendations for fibre was another pulling numbers from thin air exercise, just like so many other recommendations doled out as medical fact and science.

one of my button-pushing subjects!!! Dr Donaldson in "Strong Medicine" makes it clear that those who are constipated on VLC merely need to get more tallow in their diets! my bowels are MOST happy on VLC with minimal vegetation.
