What Joy They Bring

Oh what a lovely weekend spent with family, including an extremely excited grandson. It was his birthday and he couldn’t wait ‘to get the party started’.

Over the years with my children I’ve experienced many different types of party from the traditional ‘at home’ parties, to those with a theme  …..pirate parties, James bond parties, on the beach parties, gymnastic parties, magicians parties, swimming parties, quasar parties, paint balling parties …. The list of great parties that are around these days is truly amazing … of course the budget for the cost of such parties can differ too.

But this weekends was something completely different, to this Grandma,…..it was a Creatures and Critters Party…..and boy didn’t we all have fun.

As the invited guests, some with parents and older siblings arrived, the party music was on and many great musical games were played from musical statues, musical bumps to just good old dance the kids were having a ball! The balloons were popping all over the place … the smiles on faces were just a lovely picture of pure happiness.

A sit down for a lovely lunch, which included some great tasting carrot and cucumber sticks .. ham, cheese and sausages …..strawberries were also on the menu and the kids tucked in. All tastes catered for and they tucked in … it went quiet for a few minutes !

And then it was over to the Creatures and Critters.

Two lovely ladies with their variety of Creatures and Critters for the children to learn about and inter-act with them …just great.

From snails, stick insects to blue tongued reptiles and snakes Yes EEK ! Then there was a gorgeous chinchilla and a wonderful floppy eared rabbit, tame rats who had a race! I’m not kidding to a kookaburra and barn owls …I’ve missed a few but you are no doubt getting the picture. It was fun and informative to us all. The smiles on the children’s and adults faces were so nice to see. I had a ball, I had a gas, I had a thoroughly great time and I wasn‘t the birthday boy!!

In case you may be thinking weren’t the children apprehensive … well it was done in such a fantastic way that even the more nervous children took part and to see their smiles was just amazing. The two ladies who came along were just wonderful with the animals, kids and adults alike …obviously used to many parties and talks in schools etc.

Well it’s over to pictures of the birthday boy …. who you can see from the great big smile on his face also had a ball, a gas and had a thoroughly GREAT GREAT BIRTHDAY.

Well done to mum, dad and all friends who helped out on the day YOU ARE JUST TERRIFIC.

All the best from a proud Grandma …..Jan

Thank you Ladies. What was so amazing is how happy and relaxed he was with these creatures.

He is such a happy and bright boy, only five and he is teaching me.
