1. The Bagheera kiplingi spider was discovered in the 1800s and is the only species of spider that has been classified as vegetarian.
Yes, the world's only vegetarian spider, is called Bagheera kiplingi. Instead of spinning webs to trap prey, it jumps around acacia trees, stealing the protein-rich Beltian bodies that ants protect.2. Adult cats only meow at humans, not other cats. Kittens meow to their mother, but once they get a little older, cats no longer meow to other cats.
Cats tend to meow mostly when they are around humans, but does this mean that they only meow at humans? A cat will meow a lot toward their owner, but adult cats do not normally meow at each other to communicate. During lactation, a mother cat can meow at her kittens, and the kittens also meow to their mom. More to read here3. Standing around burns calories. On average, a 150-pound person burns 114 calories per hour while standing and doing nothing.
Well, that is standing but did you know, that although you might not relish the idea of doing household chores, research claims that dusting, vacuuming and mopping with gusto are as good for you as any session at the gym.So if you don't have time to pump weights at the gym or attend Pilates classes, then substitute them with everyday household tasks or jobs in the garden. They will stretch and tone your muscles, and you'll burn up to 315 calories an hour - that's more than twice as many as you would sitting in front of the television. More to read here
4. Researchers have found that flossing your teeth can help your memory. Flossing prevents gum disease, which prevents stiff blood vessels, which cause memory issues.
Read more about this here, and happy flossing!
5. More tornadoes occur in the United Kingdom per square mile than in any other country in the world.
6.The Guinness World Record for the longest time spent searching for the Loch Ness Monster is held by Steve Feltham, who camped at Loch Ness for 25 years.

Those are all interesting facts. I never knew that cats don't meow to each other. I also never heard that the UK had so many tornadoes.
No conocía mucho de esos datos. Te mando un beso.

I didn't know much about that information. Sending you a kiss.
I enjoyed these seven facts.
I have always had a child like wish that there would be a loch ness monster, of course in my wish it would be a friendly one!
Enjoy your weekend Jan.
Tina
Dear Jan, for sure I knew about the cats, as I have had them most of my life...they use eye contact (and hisses or growls if necessary) to communicate with one another. Yes, the meow is for their human friends.
Good ones
Thanks for the information. I had five cats at one time once and they would all serenade me sweetly as I prepared their meal. It was so cute.
Well I'm off to do some heavy duty housework! ☺️
Lots of fun and interesting. Thanks for sharing.
I have always known that a good household cleaning equals any gym session.
Dear Jan ,
What a great and interesting compilation you've put together! I already knew about the household chores, but I didn't know that humans burn so many calories just by standing still.
Havea happy weekend! hugs Elke
Did I Know?

Interesting article. Thank you for sharing information about the connection between gum disease and risk of developing dementia.
Is it OK to just stand in front of the TV? (With or without a pizza in hand?)
God bless.
I didn't know about any of these. Thanks for the fun facts! Have a great weekend, Jan!
Cats are such clever beings. That goes in good as in bad I think ;-)
Floss on the list!
#6... really?!
I sure will track Santa! And show the books I have on that!
Thank you for the info! And have a great Saturday, Jan!
I knew about housework and burning calories. Some cats doe miaou to each other, but most of their communication is with their slaves.
That's really interesting about tornadoes int he UK. We get them here in New England too, but they are not (usually) the size of the ones in the Midwest. And that makes so much sense about flossing. I wonder if that means in time IF people floss there will be less memory loss. Hmmmm. I always enjoy reading these and learn so many new things. Thanks for doing this Jan.
Hoy nos vamos de aquí sabiendo más cosas. Gracias Jan.
Buen fin de semana para Todos.
Un abrazo.
These are all new to me!
Oh these are great. I didn't know about the spider that is very interesting. For some reason I didn't even think the UK was struck with tornadoes. I know better now. Have a great day today.
What interesting facts! Thank you!
Thank you so much. I love learning.
Some of those I did not know. I floss every day! I didn't know about cats meowing. Fun facts.
No, I did not know any of those things!
These were all so interesting. I've had a lot of cats in my life and never thought about the fact that they only meow to humans - crazy!
A vegetarian spider? That's new.
Very interesting facts. Thanks.
I did not know any of these.. interesting.
Each one surprising, quirky, and perfect for sparking conversation
Jan, I did know that Santa had received a pilot license and that NORAD tracks his flight. Interesting to learn that adult cats only meow at humans, not cats. Thank you for increasing my knowledge.
The information about cats and kittens is especially interesting sine a kitten has recently joined our family.
The only one I knew was the standing and doing housework one. Thank you for sharing these unusual facts, Jan.
