Did you know Oregano contains a powerful substance called beta-caryophyllene that helps fight inflammation. This herb is said to benefit people suffering conditions such as osteoporosis and arteriosclerosis. On top of it’s anti-inflammatory properties, antibacterial and antifungal properties can also be added to the list of what make oregano a top pick herb!

We bring a variety of recipe ideas to this blog, but please note, not all may be suitable for you. If you may have any food allergies, or underlying health issues these must always be taken into account. If you are a diabetic and not sure how certain foods may affect your blood sugars, test is best, i.e. use your meter.

All the best Jan

There are a lot of greens used in this type of dish. I like spinach because it has a nice light flavor.

Jan, how delicious! And I only recently decided to make some meatballs without any breadcrumbs (or oats, etc). I don't need to tell *you* - they turned out great. You don't have to add simple carbs to meatballs! Now you've got me craving Italian meatballs.

From the ingredients, that's similar to how my mother made them.

My husband recently told me he doesn't really like meatballs!
I used to think that was a dead cert of a meal.

Learning all the time. It had never occurred to me that meatballs could be anything BUT lowcarb.

Hello Jan!:) Meat balls are usually on the menu once a week at my house. We love them with a half pork, half beef mixture, but I'll definitely try your Mama Mia recipe, and add more oregano to my cooking as well. Have a good weekend.:)

Sounds heavenly! Now that I am just "maintaining" I do indulge and eat my own wonderful meatballs now and then. I have them with Zoodles while the family has spaghetti. Have a great weekend!
