Meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies evaluating the association of sound dietary advice versus the Sid Bonkers portion control method.

Meta-analysis of prospective cohort studies evaluating the association of sound dietary advice versus the Sid Bonkers portion control method.

After evaluating the threads and postings from the Bonkers ones the postings were considered for relevance for the average diabetic, for those looking to lose weight, the safe reduction of BG numbers, and to evaluate if any sound information whatsoever could be found.

Objective: The objective of this meta-analysis was to summarize the evidence related to the aforementioned Bonkers portion control method. Can a man or woman live on 17 grams of cornflakes and a splash of milk, supplemented with hobnob biscuits and the occasional tin of Celebration chocolates. What risks are associated with a long term 1200 calorie diet.

A full evaluation was made of the Bonkers diet, and the value of the information was considered, together with an assessment of the participants behaviour.

Conclusions:
After thorough and exhaustive examination of the said posts and the Bonkers portion control diet, they were considered to be as much use to the average diabetic as a rubber beak on a woodpecker ! Study participants suffered from extreme Lowcarbus Antius Maximus Cretinopathy a chronic condition.. It is highly likely this kind of diet leads to rudeness, trouble making and cognitive failure. Patients displayed increasing paranoia and at times a state of pronounced delusion. One participant believed he was Caligula in a previous life, another thought he was Joseph Stalin.

Remedy: A diet of 2000-2500 calories a day based on non starchy vegetables, high quality fats and adequate proteins. Very active diabetics may require a higher calorie intake.

I expect a non diabetic dwarf would find the bonkers diet sustainable.

Part of the remedy could be to include a low carb strawberry cake in your weekly diet plan? Sorry couldn't resist!

Ha! Kidding aside, though, VLC diets have been observed to lead to psychosis. See the Minnesota Starvation Experiment, carried out by Ancel Keys.

Hi Lori

"VLC diets have been observed to lead to psychosis. See the Minnesota Starvation Experiment, carried out by Ancel Keys."

Just for clarity VLC stands for very low calorie not very low carb.

Yes I have read the study, a sad story not to be repeated I hope.

Zoe Harcombe posted about the Minnesota Starvation Experiment:

Surely we have just observed the pre-requisite for an obesity epidemic? Eat less, get hungry, slow the metabolism, increase the desire to consume energy, reduce the desire to expend energy, put on weight, try to eat less and so on. We have certainly just described the Western World, since we started our obsession with calorie counting.
