What a great day. Every six months we meet some of our lowcarb friends, met through d.co.uk and David’s forum. We meet in Guildford at the Loch Fyne restaurant in Chapel street, this place is an old converted Church, and has a fantastic atmosphere. Great lowcarb food (this is a fish restaurant) and the staff and the manager Rahul Punchkaren, go out of their way to make it a great day. Every one controlling their weight and diabetes, and I am the heavy weight meds man on two metformin a day. Between us we have many years of lowcarbing and everyone doing very well.
We also have a six monthly meeting in the north of England (Chorley Lancs.) If you want to get involved, contact us via the contact email address on our main site here.

"The Jolly Fryer takeaway in Filton, Bristol, are offering customers the meal for £10 – and provide a free can of diet coke for anyone who can finish it in one sitting."
What a great place it would be for tub's rabble to meet up, what's the betting they would all qualify for the free coke!!!

Wow sounds as if you had a delicious lunch in good company. Our family have been to the Cambridge 'Loch Fyne' and enjoyed the menu and atmosphere, a very friendly place. I have to agree if you are following a lower carb diet the choice on the menu is excellent. If you do not count your carbs there is something on the menu for you to, and no I don't work for this chain of restaurants.

You hit the nail on the head Sue. These restaurants do cater for all the family andseem to have a very nice, welcoming atmosphere. Had a very enjoyable family outing just before Christmas to the Beaconsfield one. The choices on the menu meant you could choose wisely if like me you watch the number of carbs you eat. If you are not diabetic or counting carbs. there is a good choice of other delicious meals.I would recommend people give them a try. You can get a two course lunch for under £10-00 and I believe they also offer vouchers . Check it out.

Carbo says your all OAP's! even if it's true you make far more sense than the old women that follow carbo.

Actually being a bit of an old woman himself tubs is in good company! wonder if he belongs to the knitting club.
How old is tubs? say he's in his early forties, though at times he likes to portray himself as streetwise teenage hoodie. The use of the term "Fess up" is not somthing you would expect from a mature adult.
Ok I'll assume he's in his forties, say if by some miracle he reaches his target weight, what next he can only increase his calories by a small amount or the weight will plough back on again. So that means he will have to spend the rest of his life on constant diet. His love of carbs suggests there may be trouble ahead.

Its nice to stay in touch with friends as this world can be a funny place at times. Someone once said you can choose your friends. Unfortunately you can make enemies and meet a lot of fools out there. I for one will stick with my friends.
