Quote of the day about DCUK from Patti Devans.

"They're all barking over there. Stopped going years ago, but this thread led me there out of curiosity. I think the "normal" moderation style is to be as heavy handed as possible (they must train for it!)"

Made at the ETYM forum, whose board members have all, but two, walked, and are about as batshit as the DCUK forum mods. I had to chuckle yesterday when an ETYM member posted a direct link to our website. Swiftly followed up by Cugila caricature and arch statin pusher Grazer.

"Yes, that site's run by Eddie, who used to be a member here"

Don't you just love the crazy world of diabetes. Check out a great forum run by Patti here. I have so much respect for this forum, I never post on it. Never let it be said I am not a fair minded guy.

I cannot understand why you would not post on Patti's forum. Surely everyone could do with your expertise?

They don't need me over there, they have many extremely knowledgeable people and the mods know about good diabetes control. No thread locking and post editing and post deletion on a regular basis. No cut and paste NICE guidelines to every newbie there I am sure. No out and out liars and bonkers lowcarb antis. Ya get the picture !

Patti used DCUK to collect signatures for her petition.. Why would she do that if they are all barking mad?

Isn't it odd that something like commonsense and normal behaviour becomess so worthy of comment?

That forum is a refreshing change from the cesspits that the other two have become. Let's hope Knobhead and Bonkers don't get in and spoil it all.

Thanks for posting about it Eddie.

I don't see the problem with that,Patti was appealing to the diabetic community in general to support a petition that was for the greater good so I personally commend her for it,small acorns become mighty oak tree's remember?

Hi Ray

Nice to see posting here I hope you are well.

Brains of lobotomised chimps, clueless in the safe control of diabetes, and sucking up to Bonkers and Nobhead, and that’s only the mods. As you say the place has become a cesspit, but there a few gems among the dross. Check out Andy. BTW I intend to tell your DUK story in the week.

I have noticed this very strange attitude before .The forum is supposed to exist for the diabetic community and vice versa. It’s obviously a place where diabetics can be contacted. I don't see that visitors on such errands owe it any loyalty as long as they behave with courtesy while there that should be enough. Do you feel loyalty to this blog because you have posted here?

I think your missing the point Patti's comment was aimed at the moderation team not the rank and file members.

Thanks for that Graham. Such charm as Cugila had I only knew him briefly and had forgotten. I think the damage down by extreme highs and lows are underestimated. They just cause a different type of harm than that caused by running highs all the time.

Hi Kath, the comment by Patti on that thread was locked by cugila, this happened to me as well. Not only did he lock my comment but he also edited the text changing the context of my post.

"Last edited by cugila on August 3rd, 2010, 11:44 pm, edited 1 time in total.
Reason: Locked"
