October can bring a wonderful mix

It is the month;
When the smallest breeze
Give us a shower
Of autumn leaves.
Bonfires and pumpkins,
Leaves sailing down -
October is red
And golden and brown.

- author unknown
verse seen here

One of our sons is getting organised for Autumn and Halloween
with a mixture of colourful pumpkins that he had fun picking at a local pick your own farm.

Meanwhile Grandson is hoping he can get a pumpkin or two soon!
I can never resist this photograph taken back in 2014 ... wonderful memories
I tell him be patient, it will soon be time for the 2020 pumpkin.

Youngest grand-daughter loves Winnie the Pooh, and this Autumn themed giphy
... and so do I

If you are looking for a tasty soup this is perfect for October/Autumn Days
Brussels Sprout and Cheddar Cheese Soup - see recipe here

Jan, that soup looks wonderful. And the photo of your grandson is so sweet. Like your youngest granddaughter, I am a Winne the Pooh fan!

Sadly, our pumpkin farms are closed to children this year due to COVID. It's sad for the farmers and a loss of income.

I think Halloween is going to look very different this year, it certainly is here where we have local restrictions in place, we've already been told that children won't be able to go door to door. I hope your grandchildren can still celebrate in some way.

Yes! Thank you. I have the need now to really really start a good diet program, as long as its low sodium. Needs to be heart healthy (for husbands recent diag). I'll check this out. He loves brussels sprouts and I love soup!! Blessings to you.

I absolutely LOVE the photo of the pumpkins in the wheel barrow. I love the white ones. Hope your grandson will be able to pick pumpkins this year. I doubt our pumpkin farm will even open this year due to the virus.

That soup sounds AWESOME.

I like the "pumpkin" time of the year. I'll have to try the soup - never would have thought to use brussel sprouts that way.

Your grandson is a cutie. Fall is a special time of year. Brussels are a go to food in my house so this soup sounds great.

Beautiful picture of your grandson with that pumpkin. I have never heard of soup with Bruxelles sprouts and cheddar cheese. Unfortunately, it is not easy to find such delicious ingredients here in Central Italy
