As regular readers know we have five wonderful grandchildren, they are just the best, and our three youngest recently celebrated World Book Day. It's lovely to see them all reading and we often share a book together... such special times.
World Book Day, also known as World Book and Copyright Day, or International Day of the Book, is an annual event organized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to promote reading, publishing, and copyright. World Book Day was first celebrated on 23 April 1995, and continues to be recognized on that day. A related event in the United Kingdom and Ireland is observed in March...
As you can see from the pictures below, they entered into the spirit of the day
Where’s Wally (Waldo in the US) by Martin Handford,
and a fairy called Silky from The Folk of the Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton
just love those smiles ...
just love the gluttonous look and stance ...
… well done you three, perhaps you may like a cookie biscuit?
These are only 2 net carbs per cookie biscuit,
perfect for those looking for a low carb version of chocolate chip cookies,
All the best Jan

...I'm looking forward to seeing mine!
What nice big smiles. Looks like they really enjoyed getting into the book characters.
I love their smiles and costumes.
They definitely deserve a treat (chocolate chip cookies).
Grandchildren ARE just the best, and yours are so cute with their costumes! Children who read are simply wonderful, and I love nothing more than to see my two eldest ones reading (the others are too young).
Oh, you are so blessed to have 5 grandchildren...they are so cute, too!
They are just adorable! I don't have any grandchildren (at least yet), but I bet it is fun to spend time with them. Hugs-Erika

Glad you have such wonderful grandchildren. Valerie

They look fabulous. Well done to the parents, I never found it easy putting costumes together.

How cool that your grandkids are into the joy of books and reading, and I adore the way they celebrated the day. Thanks for sharing such wonderful pics of your beautiful grandbabies. So adorable! Hugs, RO

Paper books!
So adorable in their costumes. And a chocolate chip cookie would go nicely with my cup of tea.
They look like a happy bunch!
I do like the looks of those cookies. :)

Me alegra que estés feliz con tus nietos. Un beso.

the cutest kids on the block!! they are adorable and i am sure they are the joy of your lives!!!
Cute!
Those pictures brought a real smile to my face. Very welcome this week.
Three of our grandkids find their way onto social media and for one, even the local newspaper (lady footballer, goal scorer). We must be very careful with the other two, who are adopted, we must all be careful not to broadcast their pictures. It's rather sad.
They are so cute!
What fabulous photos, I bet they had a brilliant day! xx
How fun, like how they stressed up!
How delightful! I coudln't agree more!
