"A type of low-carb, high-fat diet that's typically used to manage seizures for children with epilepsy could reverse kidney disease in Type 1 and Type 2 diabetics, a new animal study suggests.
If successful in humans, the so-called ketogenic diet could have the potential to replace dialysis, which is a procedure that artificially filters blood in place of a damaged or failed kidney, said study researcher Charles Mobbs, professor of neuroscience and geriatrics and palliative care medicine at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City"
I am fairly sceptical about this sort of study, too many times what works in a mouse does not work for a human being. However, does anyone remember Peppi ? He was diagnosed with severe kidney failure and his Doctor told him his life would be reduced significantly. Peppi went very low carb and reversed his kidney failure ! His Doctor was stunned and had never seen this happen before. I know two type one diabetics who have improved their GFR rate significantly with a lowcarb high fat diet. The sooner sugar and highly refined carbohydrates carry a government health warning the better !
Thank you Ali for sending us the link.

This is a very interesting article and thanks to Ali for bringing it to our attention. High fat/low carb diets can improve the health of many not only diabetics. I just wish doubters would give it a try, they will see for themselves the improvements.
