Maybe, just maybe you feel you are flogging a dead horse elsewhere ! Maybe you feel elsewhere is a lost cause ! Elsewhere seems to be running a competition for the member with the highest BG number these days, but as all of you know, I’m very biased ! I’m dumb enough to believe the closer a diabetic can get to non diabetic BG numbers the better. I’m dumb enough to believe good fresh food and exercise is a far safer and healthier option than unnecessary drugs and medication. Elsewhere my message and others that believe the same as me are clearly not wanted.
Secondly forums. Over the last couple of months I have been asked on many occasions why don’t I start a forum. Kind people have offered to pick up the bill, but for me it’s a no no. It seems to me forums fall roughly into to two types. Some are long standing and are excellent and others are lunatic asylums with commercial interests setting the agenda. Lets face it, there is little if any money to made promoting a healthy life style based on common sense, plain healthy food and moderate exercise. The money is in selling junk that no-one needs, such as useless recipe books, vibrating foot plates and high carb diabetic hampers etc etc. Some people have been banned from forums, but the marketing via emails continues. Yesterday I observed the sad spectacle of a dead man being wished a happy birthday on two forums. It appears the grave offers no hiding place from the big sell.

If you use this blog for low carbers as opposed to trying to settle old scores it will get bigger. On the subject of forums, Jimmy Moore does a great forum as do lots of low carbers.
Most of us who read this blog are totally behind you I'm sure. The width and depth of some articles are excellent, I do agree stick to what we know is best and to use your phrase you know it makes sense. Keep on doing it.

I remember when the forum was an absolutely brilliant place. Back in the days with people like Dennis, Fergus, Dr. Katharine, Trinkwasser, Diabetic Geek, Timo and dozens of other highly knowledgeable people who had decades of experience between them. All gone, now the most active people use the forum as a personnel plaything and amusement park. Instead of great information and people coming forward and posting they have gone from dangerous BG numbers to non diabetic within a week !!! It’s I’ve got a higher HbA1c than you competition.
The big question for me over the last two years, was all the grief down to Ken and his clique, or was a decision made by the owners to dump lowcarb in the basement ? I now have the answer. !
Ken has gone as a mod but if anything the forum is worse, make up your own minds. A comment I hear very often from the many diabetics I talk to is “thank god we joined that forum three years ago and not now” That’s exactly how I feel. The place is good for a laugh, but for newbie’s and the long term poorly controlled a disaster area.

Have a look at the "Another reason to watch those carbs..." thread on DCUK Eddie, very interesting.
Just a few low carbers talking about baking and eating bread, looks like some of your friends are jumping ship.

"Just a few low carbers talking about baking and eating bread, looks like some of your friends are jumping ship" Jumped ship I don't think so, were not talking about additive filled bread from the supermarket. A question asked about the bread and the response; "I was just wondering if this bread would be considered low GI?" "Yes, if I were to use such terms, bred as they are from a thoroughly damaged and perverted view of both nutrition and medicine, yes, it would not only qualify, but even WIN, the LOW GI Stakes" http://nourishedmagazine.com.au/blog/articles/slow-ferment-sourdough-bread.
