In my opinion the NHS is the UK's finest institution. The experience of my family and friends has been 99% positive. We all know it is not perfect, what system is? A big problem is lack of money, these days the NHS is stretched to the limit financially, the NHS is in need of any more money it can get right, err...no. It's got to be politically correct money. The BBC reports here.
Jan Ditheridge, chief executive of Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust, said the behaviour was "insulting". The hospital's friends group said it was a "sad day for public support for our health services"
The PC mob will be the end of us all I tell ya!

A group of guys having a great time and raising money for a good cause and they got turned dow? Okay guys, I'll take it. Send it on over.
Hello, I guess people do not have a sense of humor lately. Happy Thursday, enjoy your day!
This world is getting madder by the day.
Events like this have taken place every summer for many years. These bed-push fundraisers are popular and take place in and around the UK raising much needed money.
I read that proceeds from this particular event had been earmarked to provide ECG machines for the outpatients and minor injuries departments at Ludlow.
Shame on you for refusing to accept this money.
Veronica
Unbelievable! Valerie
Saw this on the news yesterday, it just doesn't make any sense, surely money is money xx
It's crazy they wouldn't accept. Some higher up must be a old timer
...we an extra lunatic if you need one.
I guess they can afford to be picky about where there money comes from..Nuts!!
I envy your health care system! There used to be a bumper sticker over here that read something like, "It will be a great day when the schools have the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to purchase a bomber"
What a hilarious picture, my friend!
Political correctness is going to do us in. ESPN (sports channel) has moved an announcer from a football game to be played this weekend in Virginia because his name is Robert Lee and they were afraid people would think he was a descendent of Robert E. Lee the Confederate General. In actuality he is of Chinese descent.
A few years ago a reporter got in trouble for using the word niggardly, to describe some cheap behavior, and he was almost fired.
Where will it end.
The guys raising money for a good course! Don't understand the rejection - wtf!
Sigh. And no-one benefits from that silly decision. No-one.
Good grief! And how many donations will they get after this? All done in good humor, putting a little sunshine into people as they amble down the street, and then a slap in the face for their efforts. A rather sad and churlish attitude from the chief executive. I hope the donation will be going to someone who appreciates their efforts.
Looks like it was a hoot! Some gutsy folk right there.
Everyone knows you get more money the more outrageous things are, I give them a lot of credit for doing what it takes to get people to give a bit of money, I think people are a bit too sensitive sometimes these days
I don't believe this! Really???
They turned down much needed money? Shame on them.
I'm with you here Eddie. They can try to tell us what we say and even what we should think and believe but qat the end of the day I just say "?~@!!- off" to them all. Good on you for speaking up against this particular childish bit of nonsense.
