Lyxumia another expensive next to useless drug no one needs !

On a diabetes forum, I read a post from a member who is on a drug I have not heard of until a few days ago, Lyxumia. The person is suffering bad side effects, nothing unusual there I thought. I checked the drug out, as usual for a type two medication, a pitifully small reduction in HbA1c. Nothing new there then. So, what about cost.

"Lyxumia's pricing will see it undercut its rival GLP-1 agonists Byetta (exenatide), now owned by Bristol-Myers Squibb, and Novo Nordisk's Victoza (liraglutide) in the UK.

Lyxumia will cost £54.14 for 28 days of treatment, compared to £68.24 for 30 days of treatment with Byetta and £78.48 for 30 days of treatment with Victoza."

As we see so often the reduction in HbA1c with expensive type two medication is hardly different from metfomin. Again what about cost.

Price: only £0.10 (No VAT) * Price shown per tablet / capsule. Pack price equivalent (56 Tablets) is £5.60 (No VAT)

So, we have a drug with far more side effects, costs the thick end of ten times the cost of metformin and an extremely modest reduction in HbA1c. I reduced my HbA1c from 12 to 5.5 in three months with a low carb diet and 2 x 500 mg metformin, cost to the NHS £5.60. No type two medications come remotely close compared to the correct diet, and the correct diet carries no side effects.

Welcome to the crazy world of type two diabetes medication.

Duggie

I appreciate you are besotted with me, do you lay awake at night fantasising about me? have you got my picture by your bedside? We delete around six of your comments a day, every day, day after day, for obvious reasons. You are a very dull boy duggie.

In one respect I applaud you, because after years of experience on forums and blogs, you are way and above the most disturbed individual I have ever encountered.

You offer nothing to anyone, no website, no blogs, no sound information whatsoever, a complete anon, living in a fantasy world of milk shakes and masturbation.

The only reason we authorise any of your posts is to highlight what a complete and utter moron you are.

Now, you get back to DCUK and keep telling your lies, some of the members appear to believe you.

I hope you find what you are looking for and find some purpose to your life.

Side effects with any drug is not easy to live with. Even taking a headache tablet to relieve the pain can cause a headache, read the leaflet with many packets. Pharmacists do take an important role when handing out prescriptions they should make patients aware of the side effects. Patients if experiencing side effects may need to come off drugs with consultation with their GP.

So true after nearly seven years just a couple of metformin for Eddie, me I just take one. On the other hand if we had heeded the high carb low fat nonsense you idiots spout we would be on a multi meds regime by now.

More to the point how fat are you, are you pumping humongous amounts of insulin or stuffing your face with potent medications to cover the high carb crap.

Are you a fat bastard? It would not surprise me in the least.
ROFLMAO
