"True Love Ways" Buddy Holly
Valentines day tomorrow I have always loved this song. Happy valentines day everyone. All the best Jan.
Chris This Buddy Holly track is one of my all time favourites.
Thank you for your comment, which had me searching google ... I found this site about Paul Desmond, http://www.puredesmond.ca/biog.htm so I now know more about this great sax player, so thank you.
I read "He is revered for the pure, gentle tone of his alto saxophone, and the elegant lyricism of his improvisations. For seventeen years he was the lead soloist in the most commercially successful jazz combo ever, the Dave Brubeck Quartet. In an era that worshipped the frenetic, bebop style of Charlie Parker, Paul Desmond found his own sound, a tone that he claimed imitated a "dry martini." "
Now we have a great CD by Dave Brubeck ... must get it out and play it soon!

Oh, I remember this song, and I really like it. Buddy Holly is such a classic. I miss the old songs, and must get back to listening to them.
Happy Valentine's Day to you, Jan.

Sounded like Paul Desmond on sax, but it wasn't. "I try to play like a dry martini".
