Dismantle the euro, says Nobel-winning economist who once backed currency union !

"A Nobel prize-winning economist will on Thursday withdraw his support for the euro saying it has created a “lost generation” unemployed youngsters and should be broken up.
Sir Christopher Pissarides was once a key proponent of a single currency but will on Thursday accuse the euro of “dividing Europe” and say action is needed to “restore the euro’s credibility in international markets” and the “trust that Europe’s nations once had in each other”, according to the Daily Mail.
Speaking at the London School of Economics, where he teaches, Professor Pissarides will say: “The euro should either be dismantled in an orderly way or the leading members should do the necessary as fast as possible to make it growth and employment-friendly,.
“We will get nowhere plodding along with the current line of ad hoc decision-making and inconsistent debt-relief policies.
“The policies pursued now to steady the euro are costing Europe jobs and they are creating a lost generation of educated young people. This is not what the founding fathers promised.”
More on this story here.
Rather than unite Europe the EU has divided Europe. The Euro will tear it apart. Monumental unemployment for young people in many countries. Rising civil unrest. Free food for countless people and the Red Cross helping here, for the first time since World War Two. Financial chaos and complete financial meltdown and Armageddon coming soon. The NHS is being sold off to the highest bidders, fuel bills unaffordable for the poor, rent arrears the fastest rising stat according to BBC news at 10 am today. This is not going to end well, say goodbye to all you hold dear. We are being forced back to serfdom, this is not how it needs to be, this has been planned for a very long time. Start preparing for the unthinkable, I have.

Unthinking respect for authority is the greatest enemy of truth.

As always Eddie, you're right on the money !
With growing unrest among member states due to the EU dream turning into a nightmare, the state of the Euro may just help accelerate its demise.

Here's hoping,

I think the unrest is far wider than the EU.

The words Un-chartered territory come into my mind. Do those words echo with any-one else?

Roy, it is indeed un-chartered territory. I do not think the outcome is going to be good, neither does my husband..

They echo with me Roy. I have been planning for this for over three years. The ship is sinking fast. Not that many of the great un-washed have noticed.
