On First looking into DUK's December email .....

Jingle bells , Jingle bells
Santa's on his way
See what treats he brings to you
Hidden in his sleigh

Oh! Jingle bells, jingle bells
Good tidings now we bring
Hot off the press from DUK
You can now eat anything.

Christmas cake , the odd mince pie
Yes you may have your fill
Go easy on the icing though
As calories can kill

Jingle bells , jingle bell
Dump extra cals and fat
Don't give a thought to your bgs
The meds take care of that

Jingle bells , jingle bells
But what about the drink?
Ah there the news is not so good
Someone began to THINK

Or maybe they just realised
What's meant by DUK
The D's for diabetic
Its not a game we play

Jingle bells jingle bells
Merry Christmas all
Just read the rest of their report
The writing's on the wall

Jingle bells, jingle bells
Complications rife?
Diabetes isn't just for Christmas
At present its for life

"God Bless us.  Every one"

Oh dear - isn't it time to let them go - not sure why you are so obsessed but it is getting worse!

DUK is sending ever more people to an early grave FACT. Why should we give them an inch.

They suck up to their paymasters BIG PHARMA and JUNK FOOD !

Because it is their choice - just look after yourself Eddie you can then avoid the stress as it obviously is an issue for all of you.

Also just a reminder you are not a medic!

Eddie is an obsessive person. If people do not agree with him then he gives them a hard time.

If people were mean to him all the time he would probably have a meltdown. That is why he hunts with a like minded pack as he is useless on his own.

Forgive him, he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

DUK are untouchable. The government have happily passed over responsibility for diabetes-related matters to them.

I didn't have the opportunity to vote for or against them yet I am told that they represent me.-which means that they have power without responsibility to anyone but their backers. There is so much that they could do for diabetics if they had the will to do so - but they don't. Not big things but small things which could positively impact on daily life for many of us.

They are just another large business corporation engaged in self perpetuation. I would happily leave then alone if they would leave me alone. But they won't...I find it very galling to go to my Drs surgery and find GPs who know very little about diabetes quoting DUK's latest newsletter at me - without understanding a word of it very often. {its probably written that way deliberately} Duk just go in for big soundbites- important -sounding campaigns which mean little. Although the vast majority of diabetics will now be T2 they haven't taken this on board yet. They still offer advice which is based on T1s only.

The attitude to T2 and anyone other than T1 is just to lose weight and exercise and take the meds. There is an acceptance that they are 'doomed' to become insulin users anyhow -when they can then be treated as T1s and DUK will feel more comfortable with them.

If they stuck to funding research and helping children that would be fine.with me. The rest is just hypocrisy and lip service.

It’s a little like living under a dictatorship in diabetic terms.

Hope that answers your question Anon.

For all my faults, I will never be what you are anon. A cowardly spineless person, with not a shred of integrity and courage.

Chuffed to see you are still hanging around and adding to our page views. On our way to a million on our blogs, good init !

If you are so concerned with DUK then raise a petition, write to your MP, Health Board, G.P. and local paper instead of whining on your blog.

DCUK and DUK can function without you and that is what you cannot stand.

DUK are drug company shills. As for DCUK it is nothing in the big scheme of things. 99% of the members never post. It's a T Shirt no more, but one great source of entertainment.

Keep coming, back my not too bright friend.

Oh I wish that Diabetes isn't just for Christmas, it is for life. Why is it so few realise this? Tomorrow never comes for some.
Please wake up now.

Oh dear - isn't it time to let them go - not sure why you are so obsessed but it is getting worse!

Remember at a time when the NHS budget is being faced with massive cut backs of which a sizable chunk is being spent on treating avoidable diabetic complications, even more of the newly diagnosed are being refused a meter and test strips. This in turn thanks to the low fat high carb dietary advice given by DUK leads to an increasing use of expensive and potentially dangerous drugs putting even more pressure on the NHS budget.

We as LowCarbers on the other hand are much less of a burden keeping meds to a minimum and complication free.

Do you really think DUK's advice would nave been a better option for us? if so your either a T1 anti or living in cloud cuckoo land.

I intend to write to my Gp about DUK this weekend - and maybe even my local paper. That should work.
