Belvita Breakfast a failed science experiment promoted by the BDA !

Yet again a fantastic post by Doctor John Briffa on his blog, yet again he exposes  the Black Ops outfits behind organisations we should be able to trust. This time it's Dietitian Sian Porter a spokesperson for the British Dietetic Association, displaying a degree of ineptitude that beggars belief. Check out John's latest post on link one.

The BDA are little more than a group of assassins and mercenaries, promoting a diet of slow death to diabetics. A diet of low fat high carb, that ensures thousands of diabetics go to and early grave. I call it the diet of death. Year after year, the same scientifically ilterate dietary bilge is recommended, just what big pharma and junk food companies want. And junk food are partners in crime with the BDA. Check out link two.

"Last weekend the Food and Drink Team took Belvita Breakfast to BDA Live, the annual British Dietetics Association conference. As headline sponsor the team was on hand to help keep the dietitians going all morning. Whether they visited the breakfast bar or attended the breakfast workshops they had the opportunity to hear about the science and nutrition behind the brand. The conference was a great success with 82% of dietitians agreeing Belvita Breakfast is a good option for breakfast and 71% admitting we had changed their previous perception."

Belvita Breakfast is a high carb, highly processed junk food that no one needs, but let's not forget, "82% of dietitians agreeing Belvita Breakfast is a good option for breakfast" and "71% admitting they had changed their previous perception"  Changed their perception, a few free samples and some propaganda from the PR reps and they change their minds, wonderful. Check out the failed science experiment that is the Belvita Breakfast at link three.

Many Dietitians are highly educated and know exactly what a high carb diet does for most diabetics control of blood glucose. Sian Porter  is a Registered Dietitian with a BSc(HONS) in Nutrition and a MSc in Health Economics. They know more carbs leads to more medication, which for many leads to a more unpredictable control of blood glucose. The NHS published audits prove around 93% of type one diabetics never get to a safe HbA1c. The situation is also grim for many type two diabetics. Current methods of controlling diabetes with a high carb low fat diet has failed totally. The bottom line is this. These people do not know what they are doing, and that makes them not fit for purpose, or they do know what they are doing, and are criminals.

Throughout  the world, obesity and it’s often linked type two diabetes, are out of control epidemics, dietitians have lead the way and continue to lead the way, to the destruction of countless lives. Black Ops outfits are behind outfits we should be able to trust. Outfits that have taken the thirty pieces of silver and betrayed trusting people.

Think I will stick with starting the day 'on an egg' as the old advert used to say. Showing my age.

This again shows what goes on behind the scenes. But have you not high-lighted this Sian Porter in a previous post a few months ago?

Yes and there is more to come. This woman has her fingers in a lot of pies.

Ah a bit like Dr Briffa - he works for many companies and he sells un required vitamins etc. He is a doctor and should stick to that - he is lucky not to be investigated by his professional body for his stance on alot of things including vaccination and screening.

The trouble is far too many dietitians will do just about anything for money these days. They will endorse and flog any old junk food. The problem is they are working to decades old information.

They have failed most people, and the chip inside their heads was programmed back in the sixties.

Everywhere you go these days the evidence shows they have lost the plot, and have lost so much credibility. The NHS cutbacks should see most off, that can only be a good thing. Most are parasites but they do great damage.

Sorry but a biscuit is not a good idea for breakfast. No matter how many added vitamins and iron filings!

Found this article very useless. Just a lot of hate for one profession. Just because you have had a few bad experiences, doesn't mean you can tar all dietitians with the same brush. My dietitian has been amazing and helpful, brought my a1c down 2% since I met her 6 months ago

This dietitian will not do 'anything' for money - please do not tar an entire profession with your hate filled brush.

Dietitians are not allowed to "flog" anything. We have strict rules prohibiting the promotion of any one particular brand, and if these are not adhered to, we risk being removed from the HCPC register. And thank you for the parasite label. I'm sure when you have need for a registered dietitian; be it for a gastrointestinal disease, diabetes, unexplained weight loss or, heaven forbid, a life-threatening illness (for yourself or a member of your family) one of us will be here waiting to help you through that using recent guidelines and research based decisions. If that makes us 'parasites', then so be it. Thank you 'Anonymous' on 16th feb. Your comments are a very much appreciated change from all of the pointless and baseless vitriol currently thrown towards registered dietitians.

I will start a new thread today, based on the comments on this thread over the last 24 hours.

Thank you for your input.

So nice to hear all the appreciation for Registered Dietitians who work with evidence based practice to the latest research getting slated completely incorrectly - please get your facts right Low Carb Team member. We are not allowed to sell anything and in fact would lose our registration for doing so like anonymous above says. And I bet the Dietitians comments were taken out of context - the BDA conference isn't just aimed at Diabetics and for some people using breakfast biscuits might actually be helpful rather than eating nothing at all.....

So long as the fields of medicine and health and many peer-reviewed experiments and articles are underwritten by Big Agra and Big Pharma, advice from RDs can be dismissed for the most part, imo. The day I even consider their advice is the day they say they've scrutinized XYZ peer-reviewed article and realize the statistics were gamed.
