Hi Geri,I came across him when looking though Nina Simones youtube videos. Check him out at Wikipedia he is reputed to have sired 75 kids.

Blast from the past! I have an album of Hawkins and spent spent an enjoyable hour with the headphones and whisky to hand.Screaming Lord Sutch and the Savages were big fans and based their act on Hawkins – started their show by coming out of a black coffin.
